The Victorian Vibecheck is a fun tool originally conceived to help our team create period-appropriate text for the Twine game. The Vibecheck quantifies how rarely, if ever, the words in a given text appear in our Victorian novel corpus. The program then assigns a score to the inputted text based on whether it over- or underuses words of particular frequencies. Users may input their own text or choose from a list of pre-set examples to see if they can approximate a ‘Victorian Vibe.’
